As fronted by World governing body FIFA through respective confederations, Club licensing is designed to improve club football by targeting key areas such as best practice club governance and youth football.
Creating a safer and more vibrant experience in stadiums for fans is part of the objective of the licensing.
Those are some of the thresholds that clubs in Africa will have to meet to be allowed to participate in CAF club competitions.
It was introduced during a FIFA Congress in Munich in 2006 and all National Associations are mandated to introduce and enforce Club Licensing Regulations for National Club Competitions.
